| Introduction | Animals and wildlife were central to my interests from early childhood. I always wanted to be with animals and so naturally wanted to work with them when I left school. But that wasn't to be for many reasons and my ability to draw and paint was encouraged most and I quickly found that I could make that connection to the animals I wanted by endeavoring to recreate them through art. In recent years I have worked primarily in oils but also like to work with graphite pencils, pastels, batik and gouache. I am employed part-time by Bristol Zoo Gardens as their Wildlife Illustrator and I also work part-time as a self employed wildlife artist. I have exhibited nationally and internationally and have won awards for my work. |
