IntroductionI qualified as an accountant and started my career in public practice and then financial services in London. Finance might seem arcane and self-serving but without proper money management it is hard to accomplish dreams be it travel, children, a roof over one's head, maintaining good health and security and philanthropy. My investing journey got off with a bang but ended with a pasting. After that I learnt about Ben Graham's value investing but I applied his principles to residential investments. My approach is simple, create a wide moat and finance it conservatively. I focus on equity markets, because equities over the long run has given the best return of any asset class. For me it is also a practical decision as all I need is a laptop, an internet connection, lots of homework and the right temperament. I started this blog to keep a record of successes and failures and for promoting value investing, libertarian ideals and Austrian economics. Thank you for visiting, I hope you find it educational. If you have any thoughts or comments please let me know. I am human, not machine, I make mistakes. If I have made any I hope you will let me know.
