About me

LocationPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania
IntroductionI like to call myself an electrician because I get my hands dirty and cut everyday. Contractor sounds too formal. When I was eight years old, I have memories of following an electrician around the house as he worked. I annoyed the plumber too, but the electrician had a tool belt strapped to his waist, like Batman! He showed me how to make a flashlight with an old bulb, electrical tape, some wire bits, and a battery. That got me out of his way - at least for a while. Thanks, Charlie. By the way, I fixed all your, uh, mistakes. Electrical engineering degree in hand, I realized that I really do enjoy getting splinters and dirty finger nails. I have a deep respect for old structures, and have honed skills required for rewiring them. Electricians also kneel a lot, and invoke His name often, which appeals to my spiritual side. Now I find wearing a tool belt to be cumbersome, which is why I loose so many screwdrivers. The blog is a collection of stories and musings culled from decades of working in the field. It's also a shameless attempt to get attention for my business, which has been devoted to wiring repair and installations in the Philadelphia area's most historic properties.
