IntroductionBorn and raised in Nigeria. Relocated to the U.S in 1999. I have been in journalism for 30 years in Nigeria where I became a publisher and editor of two samizdat publications in the 1990s which were a pain in the butts of Nigerian military dictators. This led to my incarceration until I managed to escape from Nigeria to neighboring Republic of Benin in the fall of 1996. The murderous goons of Nigeria's most reviled dictator, the late Gen Sani Abacha pursued me to Benin Republic and kidnapped me while I was under the protection of the UNHCR.I was kept in the Gulag for two years. The late Pope John Paul II traveled to Nigeria in summer 1998 to plead with the reclusive dictator to grant me freedom all to no avail. Providence stepped in when the military cretin died two months after he turned down the Pope's plea and I regained my freedom. A year later, I left Nigeria with my family. I have been to couples of universities and earned chains of dregrees since I came to the U.S: three masters degrees and a doctorate and pusuing a JD Law Degree. I have written four published books. Check them out on amazon.com My next book which I have just co-authored is due in summer 2012.
