| Introduction | I hold an AA in Liberal Arts with an emphasis on Criminal Justice, a BA in Social Sciences, and an MA in Teaching and Learning Technology. Background experiences include; crisis intervention and teaching assistance in an educational environment. Along with being devoted to the concept of lifelong learning, I am an effective communicator, responsive and respective of human diversity. As a teacher, my academic plan focuses on content knowledge, students needs, educational and community goals, encouraging positive interactions and self- motivation. Gaining explicit understanding of learning styles and recognizing my preferred learning style has assisted me in altering my implicit beliefs about teaching and motivated my incorporation of diverse learning styles into practice. My goal is to make content meaningful, while complimenting the needs of diverse learners. My teaching style results of the Grashia & Riechmann (1996) evaluation reveal “high” in all four teaching categories; Expert, Formal Authority, Personal Model, Facilitator and Delegator. |
