| Introduction | I live in Edinburgh, Scotland. For a Scottish whisky drinker and researcher, it is pretty special. As well as a range of fine pubs with the traditional gantry display of single malts, there is the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and at least two annual whisky festivals in the city - I have been to the Whisky Fringe a few times (strictly for research purposes). In addition, most of the Scottish distilleries are within a day's drive and for those requiring an overnight, I have Bessie, my wee, trusty Toyota camper van. When it comes to Scottish Whisky, I am learning as I go. This blog charts my journey. I stay healthy and drink in moderation. When I can, I get away in my van and walk and explore this amazing country I live in. A few years ago, I started a reverse, Scottish National Trail, starting at Cape Wrath, I've walked as far as Inchnadamph. I am aiming for a pint in Kirk Yetholm (on the Border) on April 16th, 2028. I am making slow progress, but there is plenty of time yet.. |

| Favorite music | Kate Rusby, Neil Young, Talking Heads, Andy Irvine, The Chieftans, Amy Winehouse, I tend to listen to almost anything, buying CD's in charity shops, the only thing I haven't liked recently is Garbage who have now been deleted from my MP3 player. I play mandolin, guitar and a bit of fiddle. Mostly folky stuff and I've written all of eight songs...so far. |

What reason do you have to believe the earth is flat?
There are no good reasons to believe the earth is flat. Believing in the Spagetti Monster and wandering around with a collander on your head would be just as sensible.
