| Introduction | Kim was born in a large extensive Italian family in Pittsburg, PA. She completed her BFA from Tyler School of Art in 1990. She established her own studio in 1992 in Central PA; where she primarily grew up, married and currently lives with her husband. Kim has sold/shown her work nationally through juried exhibitions, gallery store exhibitions, sales and personally through some of the finest craft shows in the US. Kim's work has won many awards for excellence. Her work has also been published in books, magazines, articles and newspapers throughout her career. Kim completed her MFA from Kent State in 2005; where she taught JMl, ll and Adv Metals with a TA Assistantship for three years. Kim began exploring new techniques and processes. Her favorite methods include fabrication, welding, torch-firing enamels, etc. combined with traditional tinsmith methods used in antique metals. The scale of her work has evolved to include large scale, metal sculpture and installation work. Kim's Redeemed Series utilizes most of those techniques. Her faith based conceptual work; focuses on Biblical Scripture. |
| Interests | I am interested in helping in community service and speaking about my faith experience through my art. |
| Favorite movies | I like all types of movies, especially old movies and especially reruns on TV. |
| Favorite music | My interests have changed somewhat. I like all forms of music except oddly. Lol! hard metal alternative. |
| Favorite books | Curretly reading 10th edition, Desiring God by John Piper and The Power of Persistence Breakthroughs in Your Prayer Life by Michael Catt (His church launched the movies Facing The Giants & Fireproof). I just finished reading The best Life Ain't Easy, But It's Worth It by Virelle Kidder, both were leant to me from my friend Kami, who's Mom is a close friend. My friend remembers growing up with the Kidder's. Her memiors are very interesting and I found I could not put it down. Last year I also read God in The Gallery by Danial A. Siedell. It was interesting to read through the mind's eye of an art historian and Christian who was/is active with modern artists. Books I have read over the last four years include: The Transparent Life by Naomi Judd, I like to read SEEN by CIVA and Image Magazine, Your Personal House of Prayer, A Life of Wholeness by Raber, Were it Not For Grace by Leslie Montgomery, Free Inside and Out by Meberg and Swindoll, It Was Good: Making Art to the Glory of God by, Art & Soul by Brand & Chaplin, The Shack by WM Paul Young, Billy Graham's The Journey and many many more but most importantly I read from my Bible every day in devotion & prayer. |
