Introduction | I've lived in Chicago since 1989 and have enjoyed traveling the city, the nation and the world by various modes. Locally, I've worked a number of bicycle-related jobs since 1992, from messenger to mechanic to managing the City of Chicago's bicycle parking program. Currently I freelance write about transportation and other subjects for several local and national publications including the Chicago Reader, Time Out Chicago, Newcity, Gapers Block, Momentum and Urban Velo. I also do sales and light wrenching at Boulevard Bikes in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. In my spare time I've been involved with a number of groups that address transportation issues including Active Transportation Alliance, Break the Gridlock and Bike Winter. |
