IntroductionHard-working New York musician Dan Greenwald is the man behind the moniker "The Workers." A musical force to be reckoned with in the late '90s, the eclectic band was often compared to The Talking Heads meets Frank Zappa. "East Bronx Epiphany", their debut '00 release, was hailed as an "experimental punk-jazz magnum opus" and became a top local seller at the Yonkers NY Tower Records outlet. After many band shuffles thru the years, The Workers became a solo outlet for its founder, and over the past decade Dan has continued to make music, both live and recorded, in New York. He returned to SkyeLab Studios, site of the first recording, to begin his second effort, with the help of ex-bandmate, songwriter Glenn Owens and studio musicians Jim Mussen and Mike Leslie backing him, resulting in an epic '09 release. The 4-song EP, entitled "Theatre of the Distraught", again celebrated the rock n' roll free spirit of The Workers. The EP has received positive interest from numerous internet radio stations and music review hubs. Dan's music just garnered him a 2010 ASCAPLUS Music Award, and was recently featured on legendary bassist Mike Watt's free-form radio show "Watt from Pedro Show."
