Introduction | It's a nice feeling to know you're good at something. It's a terrible feeling to know you've never been great at anything. I want that to change. A few months ago I started running for fun, a mile here and there, a 5k, half-marathon, I've become a "good" runner, I want to be great. I ran a 5:30 mile in highschool, which is not bad. I ran a 5:09 mile three months ago. 4:58 mile two months ago, and a 4:54 mile a few weeks ago. Could this be it? I only run two or three times a week if that. I was a personal trainer and an avid weightlifter, but never a runner, certainly I'm no expert on the training, stretching, supplementation, or the amount of rest I'll need throughout, but that is part of the challenge. Could I actually be more than just a good runner though? I'm not sure, but I want to find out. This is my goal. I'm giving myself until December 31st 2010 to do something that only a thousand or so people on Earth have ever accomplished. I'm going to break a four-minute-mile. Welcome to my blog. Welcome to Breaking Four. |
