| Introduction | As a Santa Clara County Supervisor, I understand the traffic issues facing our community. I represent the county on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, which addresses the regional transportation concerns of the Bay Area. The commission is sponsoring Bike to Work Day partly because bicycling reduces the amount of damage done to our roadways and eases parking congestion throughout the entire region.
