| Introduction | I was... Born in Exeter, Devon. Moved to Newcastle-on-Tyne 1958, then to Zanzibar, East Africa 1963, back to London following violent revolution 1964, back again to Tanzania until 1967. Returned to Newcastle in time to catch the Sixties, then another move, to Merseyside (Wirral) 1968, Birkenhead 1975, Sunderland Poly (Art School-BA Hons) '76-79. London 1979 to 84 (acquiring first -and best- smack habit on the way. Incidentally kept working all the time until Thatcher-inspired redundancies. Back to Wirral in 1985. Downhill all the way until 94 when I took MSc in Drug Addiction at JMU (graduated 1996) Active in politics of social care and ultimately promoting service user and carer involvement since then. Vice Chair of Wirral's Community Health Council 2000, Wirral Volunteer of the Year 2006 etc etc. |
