| Introduction | I am Auke Jon Bierma or Jon. As a young boy, I was fascinated by my mother’s camera. I got my first camera when I was eight years old. After high school graduation, I bought a Nikon FM with a 50mm and 135mm lens and lots of rolls of film for 15 months of photo documenting Europe as I went backpacking and hitch hiking across the continent. After I got married, had kids and started to farm, I no long had time for photography and anyway my wife had an instamatic. When I went back to Holland to see where my mom was buried, I took a new Nikon camera, some lens and film and that was all it took to re-spark my picturing making passion. When I started taking a class and bought a Nikon D200, things really started going. I’ve been taking classes and workshops and shooting prolifically ever since. I am ready to take your portrait or photograph your wedding. I will give it my all. |
