Introduction Laura has 24 years of experience treating orthopedic / sports medicine injuries in professional, collegiate, high school and amateur athletes. Laura was an Athletic Trainer the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, the 1994 United States Paralympic swim team, and 12 Seasons with the WNBA Detroit Shock. She completed a sports medicine fellowship under prominent orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews (Birmingham Alabama) in 1989 .She is currently the Supervisor for the DETROIT MEDICAL CENTER Sports Performance Academy and the Founder and President of Girls Can Jump, Inc. Laura is nationally recognized for her many outreach programs throughout the USA facilitating and training coaches, student athletes and parents in measures to prevent serious knee injuries in female athletes.
