Introduction	¡Soy Capaz! is an HIV-prevention, education, and patient-care program of Amazon Promise. Its motto, "¡Soy Capaz de protegerme de VIH/SIDA!" (I can protect myself from HIV/AIDS!) sends a strong, encouraging message to stop the epidemic of HIV/AIDS in the jungle regions of Peru, empowering each and every person to actively take charge of his/her life and share the responsibility for the health of the community. The program’s multifaceted form is based on the specifics of the communities we serve, be it the indigenous Quechua, Achuar and other peoples or the Mestizo populations. HIV/AIDS has been steadily progressing into the remote jungle district of Loreto where Amazon Promise operates (areas marked red on the map).We reach places no one else does, and work with underserved people who face the risk of HIV infection.
