About me

Introduction	Words form a path to a story. The power of words to paint pictures in my mind gripped me from a young age. Once I learned to master the magic of reading on my own, the tiny, country-town library of my childhood drew me like a magnet. Adventures with The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys mysteries, my mother’s Mills & Boone romances, my dad’s Westerns, and the escapades of Trompie and the tomboy Saartjie (my home language is Afrikaans): I devoured them all. With the love for reading, the ability to spot detail also grew; things that need to be fixed, cleaned or moved to a different location don’t easily escape my attention (much to the annoyance of my family!) It also helps me edit manuscripts and polish them till they're better, and I currently do freelance copy-editing and proofreading. My faith in Jesus Christ is central to who I am and influences my perspective on the world, my values, and my priorities. I love spending time with family and friends, but solitude and making space for prayer, reflection, and digging into God’s Word occupy a significant part of my day.
