| Introduction | see above |
| Interests | art and the arts...also (in no particular order:) philosophy, reconciling apparently contradictory points of view (like Hulme, I think we're all a bundle of contradictions, so my own crusade is to rescue the baby of enlightenment humanism from being thrown out with the bath water of post modernist relativism, easily done)! What else...cooking, eating and drinking (no red meat) (but plenty of red wine), with family, friend and on my own, reading, making up the fire at the weekend and watching it burn late into the night, glass in hand. Enjoying (Andrew Davies/type) costume dramas on telly, with the family, after a bracing walk in the peak district. Playing the accordion with Hillbilly Punx Wholesome Fish, with Ruth (my wife, on fiddle, whistle and recorder) and with Agelina Warenskia of Cafe con Brio... plus the usual stuff (sexual intercourse, bathing, passing water...being alive)(which, for me anyway, beats being dead)! |
| Favorite movies | Saturday Night and Sunday Morning by Karel Reize (a favourite book to, by Nottingham's own 'angry young man' Alan Sillitoe) |
| Favorite music | Bach's Cello Suites (especially No 1 in C, especially as interpreted by Paul Tortelier) |
| Favorite books | Wandering by Herman Hesse |
