| Introduction | I began teaching in January, '78. I obtained my BS degree in Elementary Education in 1977, with minor degrees in English and Psychology and my MS in 1980 from Jacksonville State University. I obtained my EdS degree from UA in 2002. In 2010, I received the gifted endorsement and will obtain the ESOL endorsement Fall, 2011. I became a National Board Certified Teacher in 1998, one of the first 24 in Alabama and renewed this in 2008 while teaching in GA.I belong to an educational sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa.I now have the position of Literacy Coach at Haralson County Middle School in Georgia, serve as a supervising teacher for the University of West Georgia , serve on the GaDOE committee on test development and teach adult education classes at Central Alabama Community College in Talladega. I have been married for 32 years, have three sons, a daughter, and four grandchildren. |

| Favorite Books | Anything by former lawyer, John Grisham. If I couldn't be a teacher, I would definitely be a lawyer. Grisham is the bomb! |
