Introduction African students Association of Ireland (ASAI) is an association of African and African descent students and alumni, citizens, residents and those who come from Africa and other parts of the world to study. The Association is formed to fulfil the resolution of the first all African students conference http://metroeireann.com/article/new-forum-lays-foundation,2516 The conference was held in Trinity College on 1st of May, 2010. It brought together 60 African students from all parts of Ireland who deliberated and resolved that the Association be created. ASAI vision and mission is to build an active and vibrant African and African descent student and alumni community among university and college students and Alumni in Ireland- A community that shares information, help each other and contributes to ideas and activities of socio-economic development of Ireland, Africa and the global- A community that celebrates achievements of Africans and African history and culture. At the moment the association is coordinated by interim administration team, which is a caretaker team until the elections to held later in 2011.
