| Introduction | A couple of years ago, my best friend started doing dialysis. Early in 2013, she was added to the list of transplant recipients. I decided to create a Facebook paged dedicated to her. It was a place where friends and family could post uplifting thoughts just for her. We called it a "Prayer Chain". We ended up with over 2,000 members and it was a huge source of encouragement for her. Well, she recently had her transplant and is doing beautifully. From the time she arrived at the hospital and even today, the "hits" are just overwhelming! I posted updates as they came in and posted pictures before the surgery and during her recovery. People that have never met her have been watching this page throughout each day just waiting for the next update. It's been incredibly gratifying to see how family, friends and strangers come together for a good cause. Her brother suggested that I consider becoming a professional blogger and do for others what I've been doing for his sister. I gave it some thought and realized that I REALLY want to do this! So here I am, in the very beginning stages of doing something that I know I'm going to be passionate about. |
