Introduction | The soul of my jewelry design can be expressed in one sentence: ‘When simplicity meets sophistication'. Simple lines and organic curves are the inspirations behind my work. I started to make wired shawl pins out of curiosity; I have never seen anything like that before. The idea that this small object has so many variations, forms, closures, and that it can be worn in so many ways, totally satisfied my creative cravings. Each pin has its own story. First, I draw a sketch and then make it into a new design or I just get an idea spring up in my head while drawing. Sometimes, I just take a piece of wire in my hand and it flows with the wire’s flexibility and my imagination. Other times, finding a new and unique bead inspires me right away. Being a very practical person, I don't like to waste effort and materials, so there are many times when I create a new design as a result of an unsuccessful or scrapped idea, and many of those “salvaged” pieces become my favorites. |
