| Introduction | I was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer in early October of 2002. I had 3 months of chemotherapy and then a bilateral mastectomy in January of 2003. Though we moved to eastern NC in September of 2003, I continued to travel to UNC for my medical needs. On July 7, 2009 I had a biopsy of a small lump on my mastectomy scar. Two days later I found out the biopsy was positive for cancer. So the adventure begins all over again. Only this time we'll be traveling 2 1/2 hours to reach UNC instead of the easy 10 minutes from our old house. As before, I will be supported by my husband of almost 30 years. He got to spend time at the UNC Hospitals after suffering a stroke in April, 2009. |
