Introduction	My sole reason for creating this blog is to support the Alzheimer's Association for their research in finding a cure for this devastating disease. Losing my Mother, Joan Lyle in November 2003 to this dreadful disease, made me realize that I need to help this cause in any way shape or form. As a dedication to my Mother Joan, my plan is to use my running as a vehicle to donate to the cause as well as a remembrance to all who suffer from this robbing disease. The plan is to run 100 Ultra Marathons by 100 years of age ! An "Ultra Marathon" is a footrace over the traditional 26.2 mile Marathon. Plus..... In every Ultra I run, I personally donate $100.00 to the Alzheimer's Association (or other Alzheimer's Research Organizations) to help in their continued research in finding a cure for this dreadful disease. During training and at any ultra runs, I plan to help make aware of Alzheimer's and its effects on the afflicted and families. I will be running with specially designed running shirts and visors to help in this process.
