| Introduction | I studied history at Purdue University and now write history for young people-- my books have been honored by the International Reading Association,the National Council for the Social Studies, the Jr. Library Guild,VOYA,and the New York Public Library, among others. I also speak about history and writing at schools and at conferences for teachers, librarians and writers. I enjoy reading,traveling, playing all sorts of games,watching sports, going to the ballet and watching old movies from the 1930s-1950s. |
