About me

Introduction I teach Spanish literature and culture and comparative literature at Northwestern University. I live in Evanston, about 7 minutes from Lake Michigan. I like books, music (mostly Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and eighteenth and nineteenth century), art, history, philosophy, economics, dogs, animals in general, trees, planting vegetables and flowers, and writing, especially the kind that debunks accepted or established viewpoints in the academic world.
