Introduction | I am pretty "normal" and very lucky. I have a husband, Quentin (married 2002) and a son, Oakley (born 2004) both of whom I adore. We live in London. This was the first paragraph of a work-y blog I set up a while back. It still defines me although I would probably downgrade "very lucky" to "lucky with a spell of bad luck" at the moment. I am pretty new to blogging but want to find a way to update friends and family about Quent's illness. If you are not friends or family, I suggest you go and do something fun outside. |
Interests | What I spend my time doing = spending time with my family and friends, taking photos, writing, enjoying good food and wine, travelling, listening to Radio 4, reading. What I spend my time thinking about on top of that = ideas for businesses; new and existing. And people. I find people fascinating. |
Favorite Movies | I don't really do favourites. But I'd be happy to recommend Cinema Paradiso, Jean de Florette, When Harry met Sally, Casablanca, On the Waterfront, Schindler's List and a tonne of other stuff I can't think of now. |
Favorite Music | Certainly don't do favourites here. We'd be here all day. My desert island would include a bit of classical, a few classic dance / happy tracks and lots of songs with personal memories and associations. Probably quite cheesy and sloppy and "showing my age" taste.. or lack of, as my brother would say. |
Favorite Books | I could certainly recommend The Snail and the Whale, A Fine Balance, After you'd gone, Poisonwood Bible, Winnie the Pooh, Le Petit Prince, Grapes of Wrath, A tale of two cities, Andromache and generally the pleasure of poetry. I also enjoy reading books by management "gurus" like Charles Handy and Ken Ohmae. Is that sad? I particularly love books which start off hard and become un-put-downable about 100 pages in. Generally recommended by my father. Or anything which makes you think and smile and cry all within a few pages. |
Do you believe that forks are evolved from spoons?
A good spoon often follows a good fork, in my experience. ;o)
