Introduction Since the harsh realisation came to me that I was not going to score in a World cup final or win the Monaco GP, I've had a different idea of an exciting career. Being a journalist has been top of my job agenda for a number of years and career wise it is getting all of my attention. Since I was 18 I've had a fascination and passion for backpacking on a budget - something that has taken me to sights, sounds and people that are truly inspiring. Pumping water from a well in Uganda, finding empty beaches in the Philippines and hearing F1 cars scream through the streets of Singapore - seeing the World has enriched my life experiences and it is a pleasure to write regular blogs whilst away and have articles published in a growing number of publications. I've done work at a number of papers, inlcuding The Independent in London. Had articles published in international motorsport magazine 'Autosport', reported for League 2 outfit AFC Wimbledon and earned numerous bylines at local and regional papers back home in Yorkshire. I, along with my experience, continue to grow in search of a career within the media.
Interests Travel - seeing new places, cultures and people. World's far away from the one I was brought up in interest me the most. Sport: I've got a strong interest in motorsport, football and tennis - sport is an internatinoal language and I have a healthy competitive streak. Always play to win.
Favorite Music Almost all music has its time and place. Boyce Avenue is a legend - he fills my ears on long bus journeys.
Favorite Books Dan Brown - all his books are hard to put down and get you thinking. Chris Ryan - he blends his real life experiences with fictional storylines in a compelling fashion. Biographies - Piers Morgan, Lewis Hamilton, Richard Branson, David Beckham...the list goes on.
