| Introduction | At age 33, I've gone walkabout. I'm not married, I don't have kids, and with no mortgage, now seemed like a good time to hit the road. I am from WV where I worked as a grants administrator and volunteered for a community group. Unfortunately I have a tendency to take life too seriously and it started impacting my health. I decided I needed to chill out before I die from a stress-induced attack and learn to live more in the present than the past or future. I also learned that I need to let go of stuff cluttering my life, so after 2 yard sales, what wouldn't fit in my 14 yr. old car that has 185K miles on it, went to Goodwill. I am not wealthy nor is my family, so the pennies I take are those I've earned, and there's not a lot to go around. Instead of champagne and caviar, or even fried cheesesticks and beer, it's a PB&J world for me. Lao Tzu said, "the journey of 10,000 miles begins with the 1st step." After many sad goodbyes, I began my journey. In search of...well, myself, really...and maybe a little inner peace. What better place to start than the beach? Final destination-indeterminate. I am documenting my journey. Hopefully by the end, I will have learned a thing or 2. |
