IntroductionSince 2007 I have been working in the nearly extinct photographic process of wet plate collodion. For me, this is a slow and deliberate process; part science, part alchemy and art. I use large format cameras, handmade equipment and a portable darkroom. Glass or tin plates are prepared, exposed and developed on location. The result is a small singular, one-of-a-kind image. I learned the wet plate process from John Coffer at Camp Tintype in Dundee, New York. BFA, 1989, Eastern Michigan University Photography and Art History.
