| Introduction | I am a Sound Designer, a Re-recording Mixer, a Sound Supervisor, a Location Sound Recordist, a Writer and an Academic who seems to spend an awful lot of time thinking deeply about sound, workflow and progress. I've worked in film and television for over 30 years; and I have also written professionally on sound, film and broadcasting-related matters for more than 25 of those. My book 'Journeyman' is available on Amazon. I practise my professional craft from my own studios - The Audio Suite - and my PhD concerning Emotion in Sound Design was undertaken at The University of York, where I also teach Masters students. I carry out my most constructive thinking by riding motorcycles, sailing or by simply sitting perfectly still. |
