Introduction | I'm a Portland-based teacher and writer with a background in theater and social services. I write for kids and for grown-ups. I love stories with depth and complexity that aren't afraid of the dark side of life. To find out more about me, visit my website at www.cynthiamcgean.com. |
Interests | YA & children's literature, short stories, writing, theater, the arts, audio drama, teaching & education, dragon boats |
Favorite Movies | Adventures of Baron Von Munchhausen, Shutter Island, Son of Rambow, Martian Child, the Pride and Prejudice adaptation with Colin Firth (okay, I know that technically it's a TV show), Strictly Ballroom, Moulin Rouge, Dark Crystal |
Favorite Music | Constantly changing, though I do have a thing for Billy Joel and Prince (what can I say? I was a teen in the 80s). |
Favorite Books | Anything by Virginia Woolf or John Steinbeck, Hunger Games Trilogy, Water for Elephants, Speak, Feed, Anything by Edith Wharton, much of Dickens, Swamplandia |
