| Introduction | I was born in New York City, lived in England for many years, then moved here, to France, where I bought an old farmhouse in 2001. I have written of a number of books including Mary Renault: A Literary Biography (2002), and Richard Aldington and H.D.:Their Lives in Letters (2003) as well as American Prose and Poetry in the 20th Century (2000) and Women Writers, Past and Present (2004). My edition of H.D.’s autobiographical fiction Bid Me to Live, appeared in 2011. Transgressions is my first novel. |
