| Introduction | My granddaughter, Abigail Elaine Warren, was born on August 4, 2008. At the time, I had no idea how much I would love this child, but the journey thus far has been incredible. She is sweet, generous, thoughtful, beautiful, and curious. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April of 2013. Once I realized I would have to have chemotherapy, I was gifted by so many people with care package bags. When my birthday rolled around in September, I asked family and friends to gift others with care packages at their local treatment centers. Abby was full of questions and wanted to know if everybody who gets chemo could get a bag. Her logic warms my heart and the answer is, of course they can. Thus began the Purple Bag Project! Abby's goal is to have bags distributed in every state to people who are receiving chemo. Big goal from a big heart coming from a little girl! How could you resist that? She is my inspiration to beat this disease because I simply must see her grow up to change the world. |
