It’s located opposite\nWine Wharf, which is a firm favourite of mine. We arrived – the service from\nstart to finish was pretty awful as their only downfall – and sat at the bar.\nThe bar is huge, white marble and reeks every aspect of the City. I instantly loved\nthe interior – a \u003ci\u003esucker \u003c/i\u003efor glass, marble and a monochrome theme.\u003co:p\u003e\u003c/o:p\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class\u003d\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\n\u003cspan style\u003d\"font-family: \u0026quot;georgia\u0026quot; , \u0026quot;times new roman\u0026quot; , serif;\"\u003e\u003cbr /\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class\u003d\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\n\u003cspan style\u003d\"font-family: \u0026quot;georgia\u0026quot; , \u0026quot;times new roman\u0026quot; , serif;\"\u003eWe ordered a drink whilst waiting for our table – and\nnoticed that for a Tuesday evening the restaurant was heaving. I mean don’t get\nme wrong – I know London is literally busy every night of the week. I remember\nwhen I first came to London and found it utterly absurd that on a Monday night people\nwent out – and now I can safely say I am one of \u003ci\u003ethem. Monday is the new Friday – huh?\u003c/i\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003co:p\u003e\u003c/o:p\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class\u003d\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\n\u003cspan style\u003d\"font-family: \u0026quot;georgia\u0026quot; , \u0026quot;times new roman\u0026quot; , serif;\"\u003e\u003cbr /\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class\u003d\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\n\u003cspan style\u003d\"font-family: \u0026quot;georgia\u0026quot; , \u0026quot;times new roman\u0026quot; , serif;\"\u003eAs we clambered over the masses to our table about half an\nhour later, we were seated by the window, it’s apparent that it’s even busier\nthat we first thought. Undoubtedly this is a City slick, suits and tie kind of\nplace – probably most suited to a post work meal with colleagues – but nonetheless\nwe sat down. \u003co:p\u003e\u003c/o:p\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class\u003d\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\n\u003cspan style\u003d\"font-family: \u0026quot;georgia\u0026quot; , \u0026quot;times new roman\u0026quot; , serif;\"\u003e\u003cbr /\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class\u003d\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\n\u003cspan style\u003d\"font-family: \u0026quot;georgia\u0026quot; , \u0026quot;times new roman\u0026quot; , serif;\"\u003eThe menu is your typical red meat based menu; lots of steak,\nburgers and a few starters. As I was heading to Hawksmoor (for the first time)\nthe following day I resisted the steak and opted for a burger – medium rare\nwith added bacon and cheese. I did specifically opt for the burger with no bun\n(gluten intolerant), however it arrived with the bun. The service is the main thing\nwhich will stop this restaurant being great rather than good – it took a while for anything to\nbe done, empty glasses were left on the table, orders were delivered wrong –\nbut luckily the food redeemed it.\u003co:p\u003e\u003c/o:p\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class\u003d\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\n\u003cspan style\u003d\"font-family: \u0026quot;georgia\u0026quot; , \u0026quot;times new roman\u0026quot; , serif;\"\u003e\u003cbr /\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class\u003d\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\n\u003cspan style\u003d\"font-family: \u0026quot;georgia\u0026quot; , \u0026quot;times new roman\u0026quot; , serif;\"\u003eThe burger was a little overcooked – but it still managed to\nretain all of its flavour. The meat was full of flavour, juicy and a little\nsalty – exactly how a burger should be in my eyes. Crispy, slightly over done and exactly how I like them. A very simple menu which meant we chose quickly;\nmyself the sundae, my friend the chocolate brownie. It was just okay!
