I loved the packaging on the larger sets because I could store them in there. The smaller package I will have to take apart and store them separately from the packaging. I do wish there was color names on the pens. And I know many of you do too. I get asked all the time to make charts for larger color sets that don’t have names. Did the pens smell? There was a faint smell but if you’re buying these for the scented reason it didn’t smell that much. \u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cbr /\u003e\nIf I were going to buy them I would definitely buy the felt tip pens. I felt they wrote a little bit better. Most of the pens were very moist when I use them and had a good mark on the paper. Since I would be using mostly these for journaling I would buy those. The gel pens came in a lot of cool colors they were more color choices and I loved the fluorescent line if I was going to highlight things I would buy the gel pens. I was also super disappointed the color names were not on the marker. That is one of my biggest pet peeves.\u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cbr /\u003e\nI would love to see an orange dry-erase marker. I looked for one when I opened the package, but there was not one. There are 12 markers and 4 are duplicates. I would love to have an orange and a gray and two other unique colors in this package. I would also love to see a thin tip Dry-Erase marker.\u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cbr /\u003e\nI may have mentioned this in another post, but I wish this line had standard color names. I happen to like the standard color names because it tells me what to expect from the color. They work better too. These pens have minimal bleed through and are great for bullet journaling, writing lists etc. I use mine for my planner. The colors are very vibrant. The pens came with a silicone ball attached to the tip to keep the pen from drying out. All the pens were super fresh except one for me. I would definitely recommend them and will buy more when they run out. One time I bought some gel pens in New York City and used them a lot. I took them EVERYWHERE. I was visiting family when I lost them and could never find them in the store again. These pens are just like those missing pens.\u0026nbsp; I will definitely keep them close so I do not lose them again.\u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cbr /\u003e\nThe coolest thing about the highlighters is the magical eraser. My kids were amazed when I was making the picture above, and made pictures of their own. How did Crayola make an erasable highlighter? It's a chemical reaction on the paper. The eraser dye reacts with the color dye to \"erase\" the old color. I found that the any eraser would work on any other color except the yellow one. It had to use its own eraser. These highlighters can be useful and fun for kids and adults alike. The only thing is once something is \"erased\" it can not be colored over again, unless the yellow is used. But then if the yellow is erased nothing will color over it.\u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cbr /\u003e\nI would definitely recommend both of these products and can not wait to use them for years to come. I did. I threw out my set a couple years ago because they were not working anymore. These Crayola gel pens were hands down better than my other gel pens. Two words: Glitter and Metallic. The effects were amazing! The\u0026nbsp; gel pens were super pretty and sparkly. This picture does not do them justice. For some reason it is hard to capture glitter on camera. It was my favorite picture I colored. There are 9 Metallic colors and 11 Glitter colors in the package. The Gel Pens come in the same shades with the Metallic colors being lighter. I used both Glitter and Metallic colors in the picture above. I loved the shading effect when I used the glitter and metallic gel pens together.\u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cb\u003eHow did they color? \u003c/b\u003eThe Glitter Pens were easier to color with. The ink came out easier. I definitely had to apply a fair amount of pressure for both types to color in everything, but less for the Glitter Pens. As it happens fairly often with gel pens, ink does not always come out smoothly. Crayola specially formulated them to color on dark paper. The effect is amazing. It looks like coloring with chalk. The pencil has a smoother and thicker laydown than normal colored pencils. The lead goes quickly. I had to sharpen three of them to complete the picture. But that is a good thing. It means the color comes out very smooth. \u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cbr /\u003e\nIt was interesting to note that I could color over other colors with black, but I could not color over black. I practiced my block lettering, practiced calligraphy skills, and colored a picture. The thin tips were not as thin as a pen, but produced very fine lines. They could also be used to fill in a section, but were a little harder than the other tip. The other tip is a regular Super Tip or Thin Tip marker from Crayola. It can be used to color in sections or think for detail work.\u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cbr /\u003e\n\u0026nbsp;To make the block letters I used the ultra thin tips.\u0026nbsp;I used both ultra thin and Super Tips for the calligraphy practice. I used a white colored pencil to highlight. It was super fun to learn the techniques and practice. I feel like I could do calligraphy now. I have always done block lettering, but it was very cool to see an official method for it. If I had to pick one I would pick the colored pencils. There is no other colored pencil product in the Crayola line right now that will color the same on black paper. The Gel Pens would be next because they were so pretty. I loved the Dual-Tip markers too. My daughter loved the gel pens the best, my son the markers. He said, \"The markers are so much easier to color with.\" All the supplies have similar color palettes and can be used together to color one page. The coloring book the sets come with gives lots of instructions and examples. It even comes with color pages inside to give examples. These sets are good for all coloring levels. Advanced colorists and beginning colorists will love them and be able to make some really pretty pictures.
