I had heard of them before, but I had never tried them. I asked to meet with Derwent at the conference. After the conference I asked if I could try some colored pencils and they sent me the 72 Derwent Lightfast Colored Pencils in exchange for an honest review. The day they came in the mail I was so surprised. I did not know they were coming! It was like Christmas. I got to try them out this week and I am in love! They may be one of my favorite colored pencils. Most of the colors pick up very well. Look at the picture below. The colors are super vibrant and saturated. They go down super smooth and they blend really easily. I colored the following picture with only 8 colored pencils.\u003c/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDerwent has many product lines: Watercolor, Lightfast, Artist's Color, Studio, Graphitint, Coloursoft, Inktense, Charcoal, Procolour, Sketching, Tinted Charcoal, Pastel Pencils, and Chromaflow. Lightfast is one of their top pencil lines because the colors will not fade away with time and they are super pigmented. They are very similar to Polychromos colored pencils. I think they have a few too many product lines. It is a little confusing. They should find their best ones and reduce it down. Polychromos only has one product line and all their colors are consistent. The pencils that I tried were 12 pack tins of colored pencils, Basic Tone Set, Pastel Tone Set and Design Tone Set. My favorite set was the Pastel Tone Set. I thought the colors were so soft, vibrant and pretty. Holbein pencils have been around in Japan for a long time and are making their way to the US in 2021. Holbein colored pencils are sold open stock or in packs of 12, 24, 36, 50, 100 and 150. The best place to get these pencils is an authorized dealer, not Amazon. Faber-Castell colour pencils are have excellent lightfastness, ie they do not fade with light. They are super high quality, with a high break resistance which is good because I have broken more colored pencils than I care to admit. The are water-resistant and smear proof. It was a 170 dollars, but the quality is supposed to be amazing! Faber-Castell Polychromos colour pencils are have excellent lightfastness, ie they do not fade with light. They are super high quality, with a high break resistance which is good because I have broken more colored pencils than I care to admit. The are water-resistant and smear proof. The electro POP limited edition markers have been around since 2015 and feature 5 unique colors; optic orange, techno blue, nano blue, electric pink, and ultra violet.
