shared a review on my blog was two years ago! Where has the time gone? For today's post, I decided to do a little review on a new product release from Glossier, their newest brow product, the Brow Flick. I was very excited when I first saw sneak peeks about this product back in June (yikes, that was a while ago). The Brow Flick is a microfine brush tip detailing eyebrow pen that is available in three different shades; brown, blonde, and black. This pen allows you to fill your brows with featherlight strokes that look natural on the brow. I'm always looking for new ways to keep my brow game strong and I felt that this pen would be a great addition to my routine.

My current brow routine consisted of a pomade and brow gel, plain and simple. I appreciate the longevity of a pomade. My skin type is on the more oilier side and with having bangs that occasionally rub on my eyebrows I definitely needed something with a long-lasting power. Since I have very little eyebrow hair sometimes it's difficult to achieve the full fluffy looking brows let alone draw out those fine hair-like strokes towards the front of the eyebrows. It wouldn't even matter how thin of a makeup brush I'd use, sometimes it just wasn't happening. In the past I have heard of a few people talk about using an "eyebrow marker" and the brush always looks super intense and intimidating. Once I saw the Brow Flick I was very interested in testing it out and see how good of a product it truly was. I had been wanting to create more fluffy looking brows and with this guy having a super thin brush I was very hopeful it would help me achieve that.

I've been using Brow Flick since the end of June and I immediately fell in love with its fine brush tip. I was so impressed with how pigmented this pen is and how easy it's been to achieve a natural brow. I've used this product completely on its own and I've also used it paired with my pomade and filled in some gaps. I love the brow flick especially to create the hairs in the front of my eyebrows. It allows me to create the thinnest hair-like strokes. I can go on about how obsessed I am with this guy, I'm just so pleased that I can create a more natural full-looking brow especially since I lack eyebrow hair.

One thing you should know about the brow flick is that it's smudge-proof! This is perfect for those with oily skin since in the past I've had issues with my eyebrows fading through the day from the heat and my bangs rubbing against them. The first time I used the brow flick I didn't use a makeup remover wipe to remove my makeup before hopping into the shower like I normally would do. I thought I washed my makeup thoroughly but once I stepped out and looked in the mirror I realized that some of the product was still on my eyebrows! Shortly after I placed another order from Glossier and ordered a few more backups. It's truly that good! I'm sure the fluffy eyebrows isn't for everyone but I know everyone can find use from this especialy since it's so easy to use. The pen really allows you to control the strokes. You're able to achieve dark and lighter strokes and if you were a little heavy-handed on one of the lines all you have to do is dab your finger over top and it should help lighten up that harsh stroke.

What do you think of the new Glossier Brow Flick? I was intending to share this post before August ended but as I already mentioned time slipped right through my hands with my move. I just had to talk about this powder that I shared some of my thoughts in my August favorites. I have learned a lot of different tricks and techniques that work best for myself personally. I knew that this powder wasn't going to be something that would cover-up blemishes but instead would set any foundation or concealer without adding any weight to my face. Having oily skin setting my make up with a powder is an essential step. If you're a person who gravitates to full coverage powders this may not be your best friend.

When I first received the Wowder in the mail it was mid day and a very hot day. I already had my makeup done for the day but I was still eager to give the powder a try. I was a little oily on my normal areas; my t-zone and cheeks so I figured why not use it to touch-up my makeup. My very first impression, I disliked it. I used the Wowder brush for the touch-up and it smeared the makeup I already had on. The brush left lines on my face from moving around my concealer underneath. This was such a bummer because the brush sounded very promising and feels extremely soft. I only conceal a little bit underneath my eyes and any blemishes I may have. On days that I do choose to use some foundation I apply a very thin layer and then I conceal any spots on my face followed by powder. Now I have been solely using the Wowder powder and as you guys know, I love it. It really lays nicely over top liquids I've apply to my face. It sets everything beautifully without making me look dry or dull. It somehow gives my skin life, a natural beautiful radiance and leaves me matte. I can't stay the Wowder keeps my skin matte all day long since it doesn't claim to be long wearing. I mentioned that it is a really nice soft brush but I really dislike the way it applies the powder onto my face. It can most definitely be because I'm not used to setting my face with a brush that shape, but who knows. I do however enjoy it for other purposes such as bronzing my face and even applying blush. My brush of preference to apply any and all powder to my face is a flat-top kabuki brush. With using a flat top brush and the Wowder powder I have noticed that the powder applies more evenly and beautifully to my skin. I also find that it's the best way to really mattify my skin along with prolonging it. Over all, I'm still very pleased and satisfied with both products. He explained to me that it was a gel that numbs your skin during your tattoo session. I had been planning on getting a piece on my sternum and I had a feeling I would probably need this gel for it. In January of 2015, I ordered my first bottle of Hush. I had ordered it a little late so I knew it wasn't going to arrive for the first session of my sternum. This spot was a bit painful but my mind was at peace knowing that I would have the numbing gel for the next session. The tattoo artist told me that you apply it to the area you're going get worked on and then wrap it with plastic wrap for an hour before your session. I did exactly that. I was amazed at how well this stuff worked with numbing my stomach. It didn't numb my skin completely but it made the pain so much more bearable. However, by the time the artist got to the other side of my tattoo, I felt it wore off completely. Now almost two years later I think I've learned a lot more on how to use Hush and with each use I've gotten better and better at it. Today I am going to share with you guys exactly how to use this gel properly, how much product to use, how long to leave it on your skin for, and some pros to using the gel. This is all super easy but I always get tons and tons of questions from a lot of my friends. Everything I have learned is through personal experience and from my tattoo artist who uses it on herself and on her clients.

First I want to share some mistakes I myself made when I used Hush for the first time. Like I said above the gel had worn off before my artist even got to the other side of my piece. This happened because at the time I didn't know that for the best results you should use a thick layer of gel! That was the first mistake I made. I applied a thin layer, maybe a generous amount as you would apply lotion to the skin. That is why it wore off so soon there wasn't enough product. The second mistake I made was only leaving it on for an hour. Since the artist who introduced me to Hush told me I had to leave it on the skin for an hour and I did, I now know that you should leave it on for at least an hour and a half. Two hours would be ideal! I learned this from Chelsey and along with some other tips.

I am now going to share the steps I take on applying the gel. This may become a little repetitive so please bear with me.

Personally, before any tattoo session, I always like to shower before and make sure the area that is going to get worked on is cleaned thoroughly. Just about two hours prior to the appointment apply a thick layer of your Hush gel like you see on the photo above and below. If you are getting a bigger piece then, of course, apply much more and cover the entire area that may get worked on just to be safe. That is what I always use and has always worked great for me. This may become a little tricky to wrap by yourself depending on where you are going to be getting tattooed. I remember when I was trying to wrap the saran wrap around my stomach when I was going to get my sternum finished it was so difficult to do on my own and a mess haha. Try to have someone help you that will be the best option and it will ensure you have it wrapped as good as possible so the gel won't move around and leak out of the wrap, which happened to me.

On the Hush website, it states to allow the gel to absorb into the skin for an hour and Amazon says thirty minutes. Completely disregard that and make sure to leave in wrapped on the skin for two hours as I stated above. The longer that the product is being absorbed to the skin the better and the numbing will be. When I got my stormtrooper and fawn piece done I had the gel on for about an hour and a half. I used a good amount of gel but not as much as I do now. I left it wrapped for a good amount of time but it wore off before the pieces were completed. (My fawn piece is also enormous!) With those pieces, I could also still feel the needle a tiny bit but it didn't hurt at all. Now when I got my Luna spectrespec piece Chelsey kept my arm wrapped for a little over two hours and I also made sure to add a little extra amount of gel since I'm extremely sensitive on the bicep area. Once Chelsey started I didn't feel a thing! I'm not even lying when I'm telling you that I couldn't feel anything at all besides my arm moving from the needle. It was absolutely amazing. Anywhere around the bicep area is super sensitive to me so I knew I was definitely going to use Hush for this spot. My arm remained numb for almost the entire session it was only towards the last I want to say ten minutes before Chelsey was finished that certain areas started to sting. I think it's mainly because like I said the bicep area is just an overall sensitive spot for me but the Hush gel stuck around for most of it. It was a complete breeze getting this piece. It is also stated that the numbness should last for about two hours after it is unwrapped but this also depends and varies from person to person.

Now for some pros on the gel. When I first heard of this product I went online and did some research as I suggest you also do after reading this post. I had seen other similar products to Hush on Amazon and a lot of people were saying that these types of products aren't good for tattoos. Some people stated that it will end up messing your tattoo especially colored pieces along with messing up the healing process. I also read that some tattoo artists are against it and won't tattoo anyone if they are using any of these kinds of gels or creams. However, that isn't the case for Hush and this gel actually offers some really good benefits. Hush Anesthetic gel will help your skin from swelling which is normal while getting a tattoo. It also helps with reducing redness and skin irritation. Hush gel is safe for people with sensitive skin and also speeds up the healing time. Just a few more things that are great to know about Hush is that it is Paraben and Epinephrine free. Hush Gel is also cruelty-free and vegan! How awesome is that, I know more and more people are becoming vegan and many people don't support companies that test on animals. This made me so happy when I saw the little cruelty free bunny on the bottle. By the way, all this information can be found on Hush Gel's website in case you don't believe any of these facts.

I absolutely agree with everything I stated above. Depending on the area of skin I'm getting tattooed and for how long it's being worked on this gel has really helped my skin from getting too irritated or super red. I think my skin heals pretty quick with tattoos and they are normally fully healed within a week give or take a few days. Since using Hush my tattoos dry up by the second day and it is starting to crack and peel a little by day three. I've also never had a problem with it messing up any of my tattoos that I used it for.

The only con I have about Hush is that the price just keeps going up! When I first purchased it I thought the amount I paid for a 4 oz bottle wasn't bad. Pretty reasonable. Then when I went to purchase a second bottle a year later the price went up by a lot. I hate this but I think I will still continue to purchase it regardless. I think it's completely worth it especially if you really want a tattoo but think or know you wouldn't be able to handle the pain or getting worked on for hours. I just hope they don't continue to raise the price.

Once it is time for your artist to remove the wrap and gel to begin placing your stencil your skin may look a little pink. This brand has been around for a few years now and I have heard tons of mixed reviews about their products. Everyone is entitled to have their own opinion and thats ok. I have seen millions of videos of woman applying their foundation through out my Facebook account and it looked very promising. All of the woman would rave about how amazing the foundation was, and why would they not since most of them were Younique representatives. On most of those videos the woman would even draw all over their faces with a permanent marker to prove just how amazing their foundation was and once again it looked very promising. Even after seeing all the videos and reviews I was a bit skeptical like many people. I admit I was always very curious to try it out for myself to see how I would like it. At the same time I had no interest because I already owned quite a few foundations and I let the bad reviews persuade me not to give it a fair shot. Time went on and I forgot all about this foundation.

I became really good friends with someone who ended up being a Younique representative. My friend Jessica mentioned how she uses all their products and loves them all herself. She suggested a couple of times that I should give it a try, that she thought I would love it. That's when my interest in the product sparked up again. Still I was a bit hesitant with the huge collection of makeup I already have I did not need yet another foundation. I asked Jessica some questions I had about the foundation to see if it would work for me and just so that I could know a little more about the product. I have oily skin I needed to know how would it wear on my oily skin. Jessica herself also has oily skin and said it works wonders with keeping her matte all day. She also told me it the foundation is build able which I really liked to hear and that if I wanted a more of a lighter coverage it worked just as great. Some days I prefer a fuller coverage and others something more light so having one foundation that would look great either way is ideal.

As the weeks even month or two went by I cleaned out and got rid of some makeup as I tend to do often. Jessica was texting me early this month about a bundle that Younique has going on for the month of June and I asked her to color match me so I could know exactly what color I am for when I placed my order in the next couple of weeks. I think it's so cool how she is able to color match you to their foundation just by sending her a photo of yourself without any makeup on then by you answering about five questions based on your undertones. Jessica suggested Organza would be my perfect shade, it is a light cool toned shade. I decided I was going to order the foundation within the next two week but then I went ahead and placed my order and I was excited! Once I opened up the foundation I noticed that it was very liquidy and runny but it isn't something that would bother me. I primed my face as usual and dotted some foundation on my face then I began to blend. The scent of the foundation smells so good like kind of floral and I noticed my skin looked very glowy. The foundation is also supposed to set matte which did but I still like to go over my foundation with a powder. I felt that once it dried down it set to a very soft, smooth matte finish but my face had a radiance to it. I continued to apply the rest of my makeup and it all went on so smoothly and blended very well. If any of you are interested in trying this foundation or even any other Younique products please use the link right here. My friend Jessica never asked me to make this post nor share the link but I am always more than happy to help and support my friends. I know she will be thankful if anyone decides to place an order and I will be too.

Let me know if you have tried and of Younique's products and how you liked them.
