I was continuing my fabric buying ban and limiting myself to only buying notions. I did stay true to that. I only purchased zippers, an invisible zipper foot (I was feeling ambitious, I still haven't learned how to use it), thread, pattern marking tracing paper, and bias tape for a total of $20. But guess what I did on May 1st? I ordered more fabric! I couldn't help myself anymore and I felt I used enough of my stash fabric to justify buying more.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cb\u003eDo some refashions\u003c/b\u003e: \u003ci\u003e\u003cb\u003efail\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/i\u003e. I didn't get to this one. I've been putting over cleaning out my closet, so hopefully I can do that this month. I succeeded! Now, I didn't get done as many projects as I wanted. Some things like not having a the correct size zipper prevented me from starting some projects. I wanted to make some reusable non-paper towels too, but lacked the supplies. I hope that habit of using what I have sticks with me. What I was disappointed with was that overall I had less posts than in February (11 vs. 12), especially since February was a shorter month. I love March, though, so it's a happy surprise. It's when spring begins and the flowers start blooming and the weather starts warming up. It becomes sundress season too, one of my favorites next to boot season. \n\n\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\nIn honor of spring and fresh beginnings, I decided to do something a little different this month on my blog. In order to have a more cohesive feel to my posts, I want to pick an overall theme for the month to work around. I took out my storage bin overstuffed full of fabrics and interfacing and dumped it out. First, I divided up my fabric by type. There was fabric I forgot I had! All I remember from the bolt was that it was from Japan. It's this waterproof material with a geometric honeycomb pattern on the back. I think it'd be great as an un-lined rain coat or rain cape. If only California wasn't in a drought. Hopefully it will get on my project list for fall.
