Se trata de un coqueto y tranquilo pueblo pescador reconvertido en destino turístico menos masivo que lugares como la cercana \u003cb\u003eFollonica\u003c/b\u003e. Tanto desde Pisa como desde otro destino habitual de la zona como \u003cb\u003eFlorencia\u003c/b\u003e o \u003cb\u003eLucca\u003c/b\u003e, hay autovía dirección \u003cb\u003eLa Spezia-Génova\u003c/b\u003e (A-12) [/b]o bien la opción de carretera nacional, que discurre por el mismo camino pero que va cruzando todos los pueblos. Por la experiencia, es recomendable aunque sea de peaje coger la autovía, ya que por carretera normal no se puede pasar casi nunca durante todo el trayecto de 50, al estar cruzando continuamente núcleos urbanos, rotondas y zonas industriales, esto último debido a que pasaremos por las impresionantes montañas de \u003cb\u003eMassa Carrara\u003c/b\u003e, donde se extrae el famoso mármol. Como su propio nombre indica son cinco pueblos entre montañas dedicados a la pesca y la agricultura (sus cultivos escalonados en terrazas sobre las laderas de las montañas, presentes desde hace mil años, se ven a lo largo de la ruta) y dominados por cinco santuarios góticos. Lo sinuoso del terreno y las posibilidades que tienen los cinco pueblos hace que se necesiten como mínimo un día entero o dos para recorrerlos, junto con rutas entre uno y otro más los santuarios, siendo recomendable las senderistas, en ferry o en el tren especial que te va parando en cada pueblo y cuyo billete es válido para toda la ruta. En coche preparaos para disfrutar y alucinar o cansarse a la vez de grandes pendientes, carretera al borde del aviso y estrechísima, curvas sin fin y unas vistas espectaculares que por momentos parecen sacadas más bien de parajes orientales tipo Vietnam. \u003c/span\u003e\u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cbr /\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir\u003d\"ltr\" style\u003d\"line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;\"\u003e\n\u003cspan style\u003d\"color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"\u003eEn este caso no había ya tiempo, por lo que visitamos sólo dos de los cinco: \u003cb\u003eMonterosso\u003c/b\u003e y \u003cb\u003eVernazza\u003c/b\u003e.
