People have difficulty understanding the magnitude of large numbers. One way to imagine it is in measurement of time.
We all have a very good idea of just how long one second is.
1000 seconds?
That's about 17 minutes.
1 million seconds?
That's about 12 days.
1 billion seconds?
That's about 33 years.
One trillion seconds?
That's about 33,000 years, or more than five times the length of human recorded history.
