LOL. There would be about a dozen long posts in debunking any David-Axe-Makes-Crap-Up-About-War 'article', but that one in particular was all over the place.
Anyway, I thought that Axe piece was pretty much self-debunking.
Firstly, just by relying on Sprey, Wheeler and Spinney as 'authorities' pretty much kills any credibility outside the 'Reformer' camp. Wheeler and Sprey are better known quantities, but if you've ever read the famous Spinney testimony before Congress, you would see he is just as big a creation of James Fallows as the rest of them. All hat and no horse. Search for 'Reformers' in my search box to find information on them.
I think if you go to just two sources, you can gut the heart of all of Axe's fantasies in that post. First, I indirectly 'debunked' the F-35 can't turn' B.S. in my 'Sustained G' posts. Second, over at F-16.net the Aussies on the board have been most beneficial in debunking Goon and the APAers behind the so-called RAND wargame. Did you know the 'models' were run on Harpoon 3? Yes, the video game. Can you say "Holy Simplistic Determinsitic GIGO Batman!"?
