Wow. What's weird is that when I read that you said you'd skip playing H-L1, my gut reaction was, "No, it's still worth playing, at least for the story to connect to H-L2." My next reviews for the DLC Gearbox games in the series ("Blue Shift" and "Opposing Force") make this game worth playing. Weird.
