The puffer is hardly vicious! It is only deadly if you try to eat it.
I once saw a sea snake off a beach in the Philippines. It was quite amusing to see the people scrambling to the safety of land at the same speed as the snake was "scrambling" to the safety of deep water. It wasn't clear who was more afraid of whom! Again, not exactly a vicious killer, I was able to follow it underwater (at a discrete distance - I'm not stupid) for some time until it disappeared among the rocks.
