I think I'd be more sympathetic if they'd stop using the phrases "killed by gun violence", and "killed by guns". Until that happens they're still in denial about the causes of their problem. Until they acknowledge their real problem they're not going to find a solution for it.
Is this process like alcoholism or drug addiction where the sufferer has to hit rock bottom and acknowledge they need help before help can be effective?
What would constitute "rock bottom" for Chicago?
And where are "The Justice Brothers", the Revs. Al and Jesse, in this, Chicago's hour of need?
