I was literally just talking to my friend who's a high school teacher in CT about this kind of thing.
He's been assaulted a couple times, physical assault, not the constant or near constant verbal harassment. Not by the union asshats either.
He's finally come to the conclusion that "those who can't, teach" is true for 95+% of people who "teach"
He bought his first gun a couple weeks ago. Only a shot, for now. To top it off his dad was a cop, not an "only one" as he saw the shit slide and decided he wasn't taking a ride down that slippery slope and retired before the "only ones" got him killed.
He's reconsidering teaching as a profession from the sound in his voice. I can't blame him.
I'm not at all surprised by this lack of thinking. I just hope the wild ones start doing their rumpus with pencils, pens, shoelaces, and water. I'd love to see the excuses why those inanimate objects wouldn't be banned as weapons.
