I don't think my stepdaughter, my friend's cousin, a co-worker's daughter, are evil. Young, scared, hoping for love but finding only selfish sex from their chosen man, overconfident in their birth control or using it improperly or not at all... To them, it's not 50 million babies but one potential life prevented so an existing life has potential. Selfish? Maybe. But a child should not be a punishment for youthful carelessness or an accident. It should be a love gift willing parents give each other and the child.
I respect your right to an opinion. I'm libertarian, and so I believe that the individual concerned knows better than some government bureaucrat. Using the government hammer to beat others into misshapen images of ourselves is helping THEM see US as evil. Someone has to be the first to stop doing it. The only one who benefits is that pencil-pushing geek in a government seat of power. We know he's not on OUR side. He's on his OWN side, wanting to make puppets of us all.
Adoption is much to be preferred. But those "given up" even face years of self-analysis about "why they weren't good enough." It's an imperfect world. Demanding perfection from people just alienates them.
