It is terribly unfortunate that a public leader can't persally be tied to fiscal failure of a project like this. Maybe Hartford needs to rewrite into the Plan That a referendum must determine such long range comittments instead of one fluzy ignorant politican deciding the fate for the indefinite future. And that such referendums must be made during spring or fall only and that a simple majority of those voting wins the referendum.

How about the Clark at school million dollar renovation and still shut down. It the only real urban neibhorhood school in the city.. Don't get it schools and firehouses shut down because of failed construction projects. People who read this look into it.

THIS IS WHY MANY HARTFORD RESIDENTS STARTED CALLING THEM HARTFORD "YARD RATS." WELL DESERVED.

The true "Yard Rats" pontificate in town hall. They didn't listen to the voice of the people and they were swept from office like any self-serving slob. Two remaining councilors who voted for this monster of a fiscal hole will hopefully loose their seats next Tuesday. Then we can party for the rest of the night.

After all the scandals, after all the findings, is Segarra still going to be seated with his cronies at the ballpark's luxury suite he planned for himself

@Anonymous 3:43 AM: You are incorrect, sir or madam: The "two remaining councilors..." should read "ONE remaining councilor..." Councilman Dr. Larry Deutsch consistently and persistently advocated AGAINST both the Yard Goats and Dillon Stadium resolutions. He fought hard, bringing facts to the table and standing firm in his opposition to the projects. He cautioned for slowing down the rushed process, and demanded full transparency and the release of all documents and financials related to those developments. He voted "No" all along the way. Yet the majority of blind sheep followed the mayor's wishes--or edicts--and passed them through.

Dr. Deutsch has ALWAYS been a champion of the people of Hartford during his two terms on council. He bears no blame at all for the debacles related to these and other ill-conceived city projects and foolish expenditures. He is a shining example of the integrity and intelligence that we should expect from our elected officials, and MUST be returned to office. If we should lose his voice on City Council it would be a great loss indeed.

Kevin, would you like to weigh in on this?

You sir or madam, are incorrect. The two councilors in question are Cynthia Jennings and Joel Cruz - not wise and spectacular Larry Deutsch. Apologize for your mistake.

Mea culpa--I assumed you were including Cruz among the council members "swept from office", as he is running for mayor instead. Therefore, he ceded his place on council, rather than being swept. Your post was unclear.

Sadly Luke Bronin took a campaign donation from James Duckett. Wonder if it was part of the money they billed Hartford for the dillon stadium fiasco that has gone missing.

@Anonymous 6:00 PM: I believe I read that Bronin returned Duckett's donation, after he was tipped off as to what was going on with Black Diamond regarding Dillon Stadium. However, he has accepted multiple large donations from DoNo developer Bob Landino's Centerplan and their contractors, as well as Yard Goats owner Josh Solomon and others associated with that organization.
