What about the real marijuana on the streets and cocaine and heroin , you call this news!!! What about the thugs on the corners with guns and drugs ,it seems HPD always raid and bust the easy targets and harassed the working tax payers.I know its illegal to sell counterfeit clothing ,but if people want to buy counterfeit for cheap so be it at least it's not killing anyone. No lifes were saved by this bust and no hardcore criminals were arrested. I bet HPD never catches the burglars that broke into the store after the owners were arrested. Way to go HPD you gave the thugs in the neighborhood hood easier access to commit a burglary. It's like there usual DUI checkpoints they set up while 2 block down the street they have thugs conducting open drug deals in plain view. Or pulling people over for bull****, traffic stops . They always go for the easy arrest because they are scare to arrest the real criminals running the streets.

Wow 663 winter knit hats!!! That's a really deadly item!! My 2 year old could have found that. With all the murders and drugs in Hartford and the Hartford Police worry about making arrest for counterfeit hats and counterfeit marijuana ?!Really that's where my tax dollars are going to, busting gas station owners selling counterfeit winter hats!! What a joke!!

It would nice if HPD put as much emphasis on tracking real crimes .

U call that a busy day? The drug dealers 3 houses next to city gas had a busy day making money on selling heroin all day. I wish I could had recorded the drugs transactions that were going on while HPD was focusing on a convenience store 3 buildings from city gas. Really funny lol!! Go find more winter hats HPD!!! They should donate thoses hats to the shelters.

Your all clueless idiots. HPD had to go there with State of CT Department of Revenue Services who was investigating the sale of untaxed cigarettes. That is part of narcotics requirement to assist DRS. Know the facts before you make comments, especially the cops commenting.

City Gas on White St is open for business. Did the arrested people have a bail to pay before getting released?

@ 2:45 PM......
NO.....the state bail commissioner gives a Promise to Appear (PTA) to almost everyone HPD arrests and puts a bond on.

I saw quiet a few cases where the defedants had to post a bond of $100 to $500 for some very serious felonies. Our judicial system is a joke. Add this to the inefficient and not too smart police force and you get a crime infested city just like Hartford.

Regarding January 17 at 2:49pm and 5:11. The biggest joke is when Governor Malloy, Mike Lawler and The Hartford police chief ,WILL BOAST THAT ALL CATEGORIES OF CRIME IS DOWN,! THEY MANIPULATE NUMBERS YEAR AFTER YEAR AND NO ONE IN THE "LOCAL" PRESS QUESTIONS THEM ON THESE LIES !

January 18, 2016 at 7:27 AM

A Promise to Appear is nonsense. These business owners will do it again if not already. The judicial system is in need of reform. Big Reform...It is ridiculous the wasted money that is spent to no avail.

In my personal experience we all grasp at things we believe in... Sometimes it corresponds with reality. Folks who support the HPDs effort to reduce crime view this effort as a step forward - folks so do not, see this as a distraction from a focus on their particular issue. Regardless of your particular interest any thing the PD does to reduce any form of crime is a step forward - get a life!!!

THANK YOU 3:40 PM....I agree! And HPD is always doing something on a daily basis....much more than most police departments can say.

Looks to me like HPD is killing it......murders being solved and murderers on the run being captured. What do all you naysayers have to comment about that? Nothing I see. Great job HPD, keep up the great job. Over and over again your doing your part on all angles.
