Typical DKR. His incompetence is really showing itself quite boldly lately. A man who never even passed his SGT exam is now running the Capital City police department. This was bound to happen. After years of taking bad advice from DooWop (ie,Watch Commander grievance), to numerous cover-ups (still ongoing), the public (at least those that read this)is finally learning what their entrusted leader is doing to destroy the morale of a very good police department. The sheer angst and disgust prevalent when you speak with any of the officers that have been there at least 8yrs is really disturbing. Everyday there is something new and it is NOT one sided. It's those with power, real or perceived, that are bullying the "grunts". A simple case of the haves and the have nots, but at least now, finally, the have nots are fighting back (and winning). U can only kick a dog so many times before he bites back, and if the past is any indication, these bites are going to be very expensive. The legacy of our Hartford born and raised police chief will not be one of success, but one of turmoil, corruption and maybe even a vote of NO CONFIDENCE, because there isn't any. Proof that running a major police department is not like a GEICO commercial.[sic] So in closing, GOOD LUCK Neville, Edwin, Matt, Robert, Otto, Paul and Brian (I'm sure there are others). Your day(s) will soon come, and in the end you all will be smiling and laughing all the way to the bank.

It just goes to show you how far some of the command staff will go to try and cover their ass. Next will be the advocate. The guy is doing the right thing but because of one little man's ego he'll be treated just like Lt. Brooks. The case against Lt. Dailey does not merit the demotion they are seeking. If Capt. Bernier has his way the advocate will be removed and the case will be presented by the city attorney, who would argue that the sky was not blue on a clear sunny day, and railroad Lt. Dailey.
I feel bad for the three Captains that were appointed by the Chief to hear this case. If they they rule in favor of Lt. Dailey who knows what will happen to them. A Chief who was presented with exculpatory evidence that was left out by Capt. Bernier has already said it has no bearing on the case. How could it not? It all comes down to the dept. Getting it pound of flesh form the Hector Robles case. The only good thing is that Lt. Dailey filed a complaint against Capt. Bernier and has a damn good attorney.

Interseting, a probationary captain violating sec. 4.05 of the code of conduct- intentionaly depriving an employee of their wiengarten rights. Will that be investigated?

Same probationary captain does an unbalanced investigation that is serious enough to lead to demotion. Yet same probationary captain has no investigative experience, no IAD experience, and everything to gain by making an example of Lt. Dailey. I'm sure it was a fair investigation.... (Kevin get a copy of Lt. Bernier's investigation and post it, please)

In all seriousness, you cant blame Bernier, that's how things are done around HPD, target, attack and just leave out the exculpatory stuff.

Again, who is making the disciplinary calls at HPD, what a joke? This Dailey one is going to get expensive, for the city.

One down. The city can expect to pay Rashim and reinstate him. It'll be long and drawn out as usual (accruing interest the whole time)and in the end he will get his job back and receive a hefty check. More to come. Just wait and see.......
