Billie appears to be just another thug of Mayor Eddies...Billie will be gone when Eddie is found guilty.

Tough call. Freedom of speech or not, employers are not going to tolerate an employee badmouthing them on TV. Imagine a channel 3 reporter saying those things on TV. They might be looking for a new job the next day.

However, what Sasha said wasn't that damaging or untrue and seems to stem from frustration.

Sounds like Ms Scruse might be over reacting.

The fact Stan helped out his former employer, who let him go for arbitrary reasons, is a real testament to his character.

Matt,

A channel 3 employee would have an employee/employer relationship, and channel 3 is a commercial operation.

Public Access television across the country was completed by a legislative act. That act specifically states that operators of Public Access franchises shall exercise no editorial control over the content submitted by the public. HPATV is there as a steward of the operation, making sure the facility is operational and ready to accept programming from the public. They are not allowed to pick and choose what they are willing to air, unlike channel 3.

If they were able to exercise editorial control over public access, I think it would be safe to say many programs such as "1 Hartford" would have been taken off the air by Mayor Perez or Ms. Scruse long before now.

And as far as Stan McCauley, yes, his actions are a testament to his character. I would say Ms. Scruse's actions are a reflection of her true nature also.

Mark Tripe,

I haven't watched the Sasha Show either, but I can recognize something that is wrong.

I would hope that the day that your rights are violated, people would come to your defense whether they have experienced the same injustice affecting you or not.

If one persons rights are trampled on and ignored, it could very well be you the next time.

Thank you for that critical distinction Kevin. Now I whole heartedly support Sasha.

As a somewhat regular viewer of the Sasha show (when I'm home), I can attest to the technical difficulties that occur when she's on doing her thing. I used to just chalk it up to her crew having too much stuff to play with, but it would appear that it's much more sinister than that. Here's hoping that girlfriend will get her justice, if this situation is going down the way it appears to be: that of a snow job. Leave it to some folks in Hartford to go on a power trip everytime they think it's proper to do so (even when it isn't). A symptom of the longstanding standstill that this city suffers from. Good luck to Sasha!

Hey Kevin. As you so "enjoy" doing FOIA requests at city hall, you should submit one for all of the press releases, and I mean ALL, that Billie Screws It Up did while she worked for Eddie. Apparently the spell check and grammar check on her PC never worked. Maybe she is one of Gramma's nieces or something...
